Egypt Crushes Opponent as Mohamed Salah Shines, South Africa Comes Out Victorious, Rwanda Holds Nigeria to a Draw

Liverpool's talented striker Mohamed Salah found the back of the net as Egypt secured a dominant 4-0 win against Botswana in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match. The second matchday of the tournament saw a mix of results for other African powerhouses, with South Africa securing a thrilling last-minute 3-2 victory over South Sudan, and Nigeria being held to a goalless draw by Rwanda. In another match, Jean-Philippe Krasso, a last-minute addition to the Ivory Coast squad, scored the opening goal as the defending champions defeated Chad 2-0 in Yaounde. A brilliantly struck free-kick by John Avire set up Kenya for victory over Namibia in Soweto, and first place in Group J, above five-time African champions Cameroon on goals scored.
