Theo Walcott expresses his desire for Arsenal to bring in Alexander Isak from Newcastle United during the upcoming summer transfer window. Additionally, he has shared his prediction for which Premier League team will clinch the title.
The Gunners have long wanted to bring Isak to the Emirates – but Newcastle are under no pressure to sell their top striker – and he’s shown no desire to leave.
Isak conjured up 21 goals and two assists across 30 Premier League games last season, and with no European fixtures this term, Newcastle look set to challenge for a top-four finish, which they achieved under manager Eddie Howe in 2022-23.
Newcastle had somewhat of a small dip last season as they juggled extra fixtures – finishing seventh – but missed out on qualification for the UEFA Conference League because Manchester United finished below them and won the FA Cup.
It means that Arsenal, who finished as Premier League runners-up last term, could offer Isak Champions League football should he swap Newcastle for north London, and such a massive signing would surely bolster their title chances.
The Gunners have painfully missed out on top-flight glory two seasons in a row but Walcott thinks it is finally time for his old to club to end their 21-year wait and would ‘love’ them to sign Isak, or Ollie Watkins, before the transfer window closes.
‘I do feel now it is third time lucky for Arsenal,’ Walcott said at a event on Friday, in regards to their hopes of clinching the 2024-25 Premier League title.

‘When you do that, it is one club together it’s going to cause a lot of problems, like they did last year.
‘I don’t think they need a striker to win the league, but I’d love to see someone like Alexander Isak or Ollie Watkins come in to push the other players. I really think they’ve got the squad to do it.’
Meanwhile, a Premier League Supercomputer thinks that Arsenal will finish second for the third season in a row.
The Supercomputer is backing Manchester City to land the title with Liverpool and Manchester United finishing behind Arsenal to complete the top four.
The Supercomputer has also predicted that the three promoted sides – Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southampton – will be relegated back to the second-tier.
